ECIL 2020 Postponed

Dear ECIL Community,

the ECIL Board and the Local Organizing Committee of ECIL 2020 have made the difficult decision to postpone the 7th European Conference on Information Literacy (ECIL) due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The possible risks to the health and safety of our participants, as well as the current travel restrictions, have made it impossible to proceed with the meeting as scheduled. University of Bamberg, Germany, will instead host the 7th conference, in September 2021 in the previously planned venue.

Those abstracts which have already been accepted, will be included automatically in the Book of Abstracts and the Conference Programme in 2021, unless they are withdrawn. Additionally, there will be a new call next year for new submissions. Furthermore, the peer-review for full-texts will start next year (in 2021) after the
second run of abstract submissions is completed.

We are also pleased to announce that rescheduling with the University of Bamberg has allowed us to cancel this year’s conference without financial penalty, and we greatly appreciate their flexibility.

Thank you for your understanding during these challenging times. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the board at ecilconference@gmail.com

We very much look forward to meeting you all in 2021 in Bamberg.
